Alfred Nyhammer, 78, of Crestview, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at his home. He was born in Point Pleasant, N.J., and moved to Okaloosa County 18 months ago from Whiting, N.J.

Nyhammer was a greeter for Wal-Mart in Lumberton, N.J., before moving to Crestview. He attended Liveoak Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing and singing in the choir.

His stepdaughter, Amy Webster, and his children's mother, Frances Nyhammer, preceded him in death.

Survivors are his wife of 12 years, Linda Nyhammer; five children, Al Nyhammer, Vicki Nyhammer, Theresa, John Nyhammer and Donna Nyhammer; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Liveoak Baptist Church, Crestview. The family will receive friends a half-hour prior to the service.

Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview, is in charge of the arrangements.
