Helen Marie Fencl Holt was born Nov. 1, 1926 to Czechoslovakia immigrants Anton and Anne Fencl in Dorrance, Kansas. She lived in Milligan for many years and Silvercrest Manor in Crestview for the past five years. She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

On July 23, 2013, she passed away at the age of 86 in Crestview.
Her husband, Everette Steve Holt of Milligan; infant son, Ronnie Holt; son, Larry Holt of South Florida; and son-in-law Henry Jerald (Jerry) Shipley of Baker precede her in death, as do her parents, Anton and Anna Fencl of Wilson, Kansas; brothers, Tony Fencl and wife Georgana of Apache Junction, Ariz.; Jack Fencl and wife Myrtle of Salina, Kansas; Frank Fencl and wife Anne of Dodge City, Kansas; sisters Martha Fencl Kuhnle and husband Bill of Dorrance, Kansas; and Vera Fencl McCullough and husband Mac of Silverton, Oregon.
Her survivors are her daughter, Lynda Holt Shipley of Baker; Nell Gunter and husband Robert of Andalusia, Ala.; son, Steve Holt and wife Debbie of Escambia Farms; and daughter-in-law, Connie Holt of South Florida.
Survivors are also her grandchildren, Michael Holt; Jon Shipley and wife Amy; Wade Gunter and wife Michelle; Lisa Shipley Coburn and husband Jason; Chad Holt and wife Kim; Carla Shipley Courtney and husband Bill; Tracy Gunter Kelley and husband Greg; Stephanie Holt Barton and husband William; great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen's family members said, "She loved her family at Silvercrest Manor and we are thankful for the love they have shown for her.
"We want to thank Dr. Michael G Foley for many years as her doctor.
"Thank you to all the staff at Silvercrest Manor, her wonderful nurses and CNAs, who took such wonderful care of her; Kimberly and Susan at Silvercrest, who were both very special to her; and Meg Lawhon, who has been a very special part of our lives this past five years."
Services are 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27 from the chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Chaplain Gaylon Benton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:30-4 p.m. on Saturday.
