Michael Dennis Stephens, age 63, of Crestview, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at his residence. He was born Sept. 8, 1949, in Ypsilanti, Mich., to the late Warren Earl Stephens and Mary Katherine Walsh.

Michael served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force and as a police officer for 14 years. He was Catholic by faith and a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He also served as a Red Cross volunteer and was a lifetime member of AmVet, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Michelle Stanfill of Chickasaw, Ala.; son, Jason Stephens of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; his only grandchild, who he thought the world of, Nicolle M. Stanfill of Lucedale, Miss.; his brother, Bill Stephens of Dunnellon; and friend and caregiver, Christy Liedel of Crestview.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
