Richard M. Steele, Sr., "Rick", age 59, died peacefully on Dec. 11, 2013.

His wife Duval; parents Ron and Yvonne Steele; son Rick (Leigh) Steele; grandchildren Grace and Grant, stepson D.J. (Kaileigh) Borries; and brothers Rod Steele and Russ Steele survive Rick.

Rick grew up on the Gulf of Mexico and graduated from Choctawhatchee High School. He was a talented musician, athlete, and statewide water ski champion. He was a proud Florida State University Seminole who lived life fully by running marathons, triathlons and traveling with his wife. Rick recently earned his black belt in karate, under Grand Master Sung Hong.

He founded a successful media advertising company, Gabriel Media, with two loyal partners, Allen Schemmel and John Padgett.

Despite his earthly success and achievements, Rick was most proud of knowing his Savior Jesus Christ, loving and living life with his best friend and wife Duval, and his close relationship with his son Rick.

The services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Dec. 21 at the First Baptist Church of Crestview. Donations should be made to the , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or St. Jude's Hospital for Children, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
