Marge Spears, age 89, a 33-year resident of Crestview, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, while at her home with loving family by her side.
The Guest Book is expired.
Formerly of Pensacola and Pompano Beach, Marge was born and raised in Franklin, Ky.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Gene, whom she affectionately called "Shorty." She is also survived by her sons Bill Spears (Gayle) of Crestview and Terry Spears (Patty) of Molino.
She was Granny to seven grandchildren: Eric Spears (Valerie) of Crestview; Tim Spears (Kellie) of Destin; Amy Reed (Chuck) of Allentown, PA; John Spears (Angela) of Alpharetta, Ga.; Janette Howard (Jason) of Crestview; Josh Spears of Molino; and Rebecca Spears-Sliwinski (Tony) of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.
She was also Granny to 18 great-grandchildren, all these beloved grandchildren having survived her. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and loving in-laws.
Marge dearly loved the Lord and that was reflected in her life of service to her family, friends, and community. She loved volunteering at the North Okaloosa Medical Center for more than 30 years, where Gene joined her in later years. She loved making baby quilts and afghans for all those grandchildren, and she always remembered birthdays and delighted in family celebrations. She liked to thank family and friends with one of her delicious pecan pies. She loved helping out her family and friends, driving them places and giving them things; and she was a faithful prayer warrior.
Our beloved Mom/Granny/Marge will be so greatly missed in this life, but we rejoice that we will be with her again in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 5:8 and I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Christian ministry or
We want to thank all who helped care for our loved one in her final days. You all are so special and appreciated.
