Michael O'Brien

O' Brien Michael Francis O'Brien of Fairfield, beloved husband of Theresa O'Brien, passed away peacefully following a long illness Thursday, November 3, 2011 at St. Joseph's Manor. Born in Waterford and raised in Carrick-On-Suir, County Tipperary. Ireland, he was the son of the late James and Eileen Clancy O'Brien Ryan. Michael served in the RAF, and later came to the United States. He was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing Irish music and played in the Trinity II Band. Later in his life he was employed by the United Parcel Service (UPS). He was a member of the Gaelic American Club and enjoyed his time spent there. His dignified hard-fought struggle with Parkinson's disease will forever be an inspiration to his family and friends. Survivors in addition to his wife Terry include four children, Shane, Liam and Roisin O'Brien of Fairfield and Christopher O'Brien of Manhattan, NY; four brothers and sisters, Patrick, Eileen, Olivia and Seamus. He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 7, 2011 at 12:00 Noon meeting directly at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Calling hours have been omitted. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
