Sakakini, Alice
Alice Zabaneh Sakakini, of Bridgeport, formerly of Ramallah, Palestine, beloved wife of the late Hanna Sakakini, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2013. She was born on March 9, 1927 in Ramleh, Palestine. She is survived by her 6 children, Ibrahim and his wife Nimat of Bridgeport, Bahij and his wife Batoul of Manchester, England, Zahida Salem of Belmont California, Khalil and his wife Samar, Ghassan (Gus) and his wife Tiina and Imad (Dino) and his wife Layla of Trumbull. 14 grandchildren; Johnny, Lucy, Suzy, Samer, Lydia, John, Haneen, Jonathan, Siina, Sebastian, Samantha, John Paul, Nicole, Anthony and 9 great -grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Raja Zabaneh and family, of Trumbull, Alex and family of Stratford and Remon and his family of Jerusalem, and numerous nieces and nephews all around the world. The family would like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor of St Joseph Manor and 7th south floor of St. Vincent Hospital for the compassionate care they gave their mother. Alice's services will take place on Saturday February 16, 2013 at 12:00 noon in St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church, 5458 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The viewing will be at the church from 10 am to 12 noon. The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport is in charge of the arrangements.
