Foster, Lora M. Lora Marian Mills Foster, (September 12, 1926 - October 25, 2014) 88, of Trumbull, CT. passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Deseret Health and Rehab in Rock Springs, Wyoming with family at her side. A resident of Trumbull, CT, Mrs. Foster passed away following a lengthy illness. She was born on September 12, 1926 in Westport, Connecticut, the daughter of Robert R. Mills, II and Lois Althea (Stevens) Mills. Mrs. Foster attended schools in Westport, CT. and graduated from Staples High School with the Class of 1944. She also earned a degree as a Registered Nurse at the State Hospital in Utica, NY. She married Arthur A. Foster in Westport, CT. on June 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death in Trumbull, CT. on February 14, 1993.She worked as a Registered Nurse for various employers and was also a homemaker. She retired in 1990.Her interests included reading, gardening, quilting, woodcarving, crocheting, painting, bird-watching, traveling and genealogy. She was married almost forty years to the love of her life. Survivors include one son Gary Foster of Cooperstown, New York; two daughters Diane Valentine of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Nancy Symski and husband Tom of Shelton, CT. She had five grandchildren Stephen, Daniel,and Rachel Symski and Alex (Cassy) and Lena Valentine. Lora was blessed with two great grand children - Bentley Valentine of Ashland, NE and Natalie Olmsted of Rock Springs She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Sam,and Eddie and two sisters Jane and Barb Mills. There will be a service and interment on Saturday, June 6, 10:30am, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Daniels Farm Rd, Trumbull, CT.

Fontan, Hector - Stratford  
Fontan, Hector R. Hector R Fontan, age 76, of Stratford, CT, died peacefully in his sleep Monday morning May 25, 2015. He was a printer by trade, an independent condenser contractor and a custodian later on, working until age 75. He was a NY Mets fan and would never turn down an ice cold beer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Hector is survived by his wife of 27 years Mary E. Fontan; his son Hector A. Fontan of Naugatuck, CT; his two daughters, Doris Rodriguez (Harold) of Pembroke Pines, FL and Samantha H. Frost (Tony) of Kittery, ME; two grandchildren, India and Thalia Rodriguez of Florida and two brothers, Juan Fontan and Jorge Fontan of Waterbury, CT. Fabry, Mary - Shelton  
Fabry, Mary Mary Gross Fabry, age 82, of Shelton passed away suddenly on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Benchmark at Split Rock Assisted Living. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald E. Fabry, Sr. Born in Bridgeport on February 13, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William and Veronica Duch Gross. A resident of Huntington for 55 years, Mary was also a very active member of the Shelton Senior Center. A longtime parishioner of St. Lawrence Church, she also found great enjoyment crocheting, sewing and doing embroidery. She also loved to play cards and enjoyed dancing, especially the Polka. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Fabry and her husband Louis Cohen of Scarsdale, NY and Ronald E. Fabry, Jr. of Jackson, WY, her cherished grandson, Justin Cohen of Scarsdale, NY, her sisters, Pauline Plasko and her husband John of Trumbull and Veronica Sharnick and her husband Robert of Beacon Falls, a sister-in-law, Alicia Gross of CA and nieces and nephews, Wayne Sharnick and his wife Mary of Beacon Falls, John Plasko and his wife Lisa of Trumbull, Mark Fabry, Maureen and Robin Fabry and David and Cathy Lansing. Mary was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph W. Gross and William Gross, Jr. and her nephew, Joseph R. Gross. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Benchmark at Split Rock Assisted Living for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friedman, Barbara - Oxford  
Friedman, Barbara BARBARA (Poruban) FRIEDMAN, 94 of Oxford, CT, peacefully passed away on May 26, 2015 at the Jewish Home in Fairfield with her beloved family by her side. She leaves behind her two daughters, Diane Gluck of Oxford, CT and Elaine Friedman of Somers, CT, her four grandchildren David Milbauer and his wife Inga of Danbury, CT; Paul Kaufman and his wife Regina of Cantonment, FL; Debra Laakso and her husband Erik of Somers, CT and Daryl Kaufman and his wife Janice of Oxford, CT. Also, eight beloved great-grandchildren – Fenna and Oliver Milbauer; Caitlyn, Sean and Samantha Kaufman; Jared and Rebecca Laakso and Rachel Kaufman; two brothers William Poruban of Venice, FL and Joseph Poruban and his wife Barbara of Fairfield, CT, and brother in law Irving Friedman and his wife Carole of Valley Stream, NY, and her many nieces and nephews 1st, 2nd and 3rd generations. She was pre-deceased by her husband of over 50 years, Harry R. Friedman formerly of Huntington, CT, and Bridgeport, CT, her parents Charles and Elizabeth Poruban; sisters Betty Poruban, Anne Brelsford, Helen Sanville and brother Alexander Poruban. She was a long-time volunteer at the Jewish Home until her 92nd birthday where she helped the seniors with serving meals and in the Work Center. She touched the lives of many with a smile on her face and a heart filled with love and will be sorely missed. The family wishes to thank the staff of Bennett 4 for their loving care and support. Donations can be made to the Jewish Home, 175 Jefferson Street, Fairfield, CT 06825 in Barbara's name and designated to the Work Center at the new facility. Funeral services will be held from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home 88 Beach Road Fairfield, CT. 06824 on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following at Loyalty Cemetery, 94 Burroughs Road, Fairfield, CT.
