Kowalski, Laura - Bedford Nh  
Kowalski, Laura M. Laura Mary Kowalski (born LEOKADYA MARYA ZUKOWSKA), 94, passed away on May 20, 2015 with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, CT on June 7, 1920 to parents Alexander Andrew and Marianne (Dawid) Zukowski; she attended local Catholic schools before graduating from Central High School in 1938. On September 13, 1941, she married Edmond Paul Kowalski. After the birth of their first son they moved to Tucson, Arizona where she helped in her husband's business, ABC Builders, and added to the family with another son and two daughters. The family moved back to Connecticut in 1962 and settled in Stratford. Laura went to work as a cashier for Bridgeport Hospital from 1963 until her retirement in 1993. In 2012, she moved to New Hampshire to be closer to her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her beloved daughter Suzanne Kowalski DiGregorio, and her three brothers, Chester, Stanley, and Walter Zukowski. She is survived by her children Edmond Kowalski Jr. of Henniker, NH, Michael Kowalski of Seminole, FL and Laura Maine of Deering, NH; four grandchildren, Erica Kowalski of Deerfield, NH, Suzanne Richard of Deering, NH, Elizabeth DiGregorio of Royal Oak, MI, and Michael Kowalski of Sevierville, TN. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren; Cooper, Taggart, Brady and Julian, many nieces and nephews as well as loving caretakers Donna Lee Guthrie of Deering, NH and Nancy Struff of Concord, NH. The family would also like to recognize the nurses and staff at The Birches at Concord and Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center who cared for her through her struggles with failing health. She was an extremely hard worker, devoted to her family above all else and will be greatly missed. ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski St, Bridgeport, CT followed by interment in the St. Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford, CT. Kudej, Helen - Seymour  
Kudej, Helen Helen Kudej, age 93, of Seymour, the beloved wife of over 50 years to the late Edward Kudej, Sr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015. She was born on February 22, 1922 and was the last surviving of the 5 children of Stanley and Anna Yrchik. Helen had many passions including UCONN basketball, the NY Yankees, swimming, walking, cooking and baking. She had a deep love of all animals. Helen will be sadly missed by her family and friends and will forever be in their hearts. Helen leaves behind her devoted son Edward and his wife Mary and the loves of her life, grandchildren Ali and Kristy, who she cherished and adored. A special thank you to her good friend of many years Joanne Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Helen's life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive, Ansonia. Kennedy, Patricia Ann. Patricia Ann Theresa Kennedy, It is with sadness at our loss and great joy at her release that we inform you that Patricia has reached the end of her life. Patricia was the wife of Daniel F. Kennedy for 52 years, the mother of Deborah Kennedy, Annmarie Kennedy and her partner Andrew Royal, and Moira Capela (who predeceased her in 2004) and her husband Mario, the grandmother of Eva Kennedy and her husband Nathanial Martinez, Damien Kennedy and his partner Marisa Cotto, Elizabeth Capela, Nathan Kennedy and his partner Casey Skillins, Cristina Capela and Alexandra Capela, and great-grandmother to Alexis Kennedy, Nathanial Martinez, Gianna and Aedan Kennedy-Cotto and Asher Kennedy. Patricia was born in Lynn, MA on December 2, 1927 to Martin and Lillian Keegan. After attending local schools she received a Diploma in Nursing from The Carney Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, MA in 1948. In May of 1949, she joined first the Army then the Air Force as a military nurse. After raising her family she returned to school receiving a B.A. in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, attended the Religious Education program at Fairfield University Graduate School of Education and received a Masters in Library Science Degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Patricia's education afforded her a wide range of employment beginning with Clinical Instructor & Student Advisor at St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Bridgeport, Director of Nursing Service and Infection Control Nurse at several long term care facilities, Parish Director of Education for the Diocese of Bridgeport, Medical Librarian for several academic libraries and Library Media Specialist for the New Haven School District. Patricia volunteered her time with many organizations including the Cub Scouts, Inner City 4-H, Marriage Encounter team leader, and a Catechist to name a few. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824 or to a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Brigid Church, 1088 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Kisseberth, Paul - Beacon Falls  
Kisseberth, Paul Paul Barto Kisseberth, age 82, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at his home in Beacon Falls, CT with loving family by his side. Paul is survived by his devoted wife and soul mate of 60 years, Ann Grinton Kisseberth. Paul was born on July 5, 1932, the only child of Roscoe Paul Kisseberth and Mary Margaret Barto Kisseberth and was raised in McCutchenville, OH. The oldest of thirteen cousins, Paul was fondly known by many as "Kissy" and to his eight grandchildren as "Grandpa". Kissy and Ann met at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was recruited to play baseball and basketball, and was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and OWU's Air Force ROTC unit. He majored in Physical Education. They married following graduation in 1954, and he served in the U.S. Air Force in Enid, Oklahoma. Paul began his 40 year career in publishing with McGraw-Hill Publishing Company in Detroit, MI with Fleet Owner Magazine. He was transferred to Chicago, where he eventually became regional sales manager, while living in Downers Grove, IL. In 1976, he transferred to New York City as National Sales Manager and later became Publisher of Fleet Owner Magazine. Additionally, he served as a Vice President of McGraw-Hill and as Associate Publisher of Aviation Week and Space Technology Magazine. He continued with Fleet Owner when it sold to Intertect Publishing in White Plains, NY and retired in December 1996. Kissy and Ann lived in Stamford, CT for 33 years, where he was an active member of his church, having also served on the Board of Trustees of the church. Kissy will be remembered as someone who was genuinely interested in everyone he met. He treated everyone fairly and with respect. He always gave sound advice. He loved life, he loved a gathering, and he was always the life of the party. He loved music, the louder the better, and dancing. Above all, Kissy cherished his family, friends, colleagues and customers. In addition to his wife Ann of Beacon Falls, CT, Paul is survived by his daughter, Mary Kisseberth Bedson and her husband Scott and their children, Laura and Robert of Fairfield, CT, his daughter Katharine Barto Kisseberth of Trumbull, CT, his son Michael Paul Kisseberth and his wife Coral and their children Jack, Camille and Danielle of Tiburon, CA, his son John Mills Kisseberth and his wife Judie and their children Hailey, William and Jacob of Narragansett, RI. A Memorial Service of celebration will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30am at Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church, 1089 Fairfield Woods Road, Fairfield, CT. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements. KEMP, William "Billy Jo". William Kemp, 60, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was born in Greenville, AL on June 13, 1954 to the late Lee Edward and Susie (Fanning) Kemp. He graduated from Greenville H.S. and permanently relocated to CT. He was gainfully employed as a Manufacturing Supervisor at Blaze Manufacturing of Stratford for 24 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and was married for over 40 years to Lillian (McBride) Kemp. In addition to his beloved wife, left to cherish his memory are; stepson David (April) Steele, Jr.; grandchildren Michara Griffin, Daheem, Jiani and Niambi Steele; great-grandson Kavion Jordan; godson Benji McKinney; brothers John Lee (Jackie) Kemp and Jerome (Tameka) Kemp; sisters, Frances Dorsey and Sarah Toler; as well as and a host of other family and friends. A Mass of Celebration will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 275 Union Ave., Bridgeport. Katinger, George Katinger, George Katinger, age 102, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Anna Repka Katinger, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2015 in his residence with his loving family by his side. George was born on January 22, 1913 in Kurima, Slovakia and was employed by Peerless Aluminum Foundry as a patternmaker for his entire working career. George was an usher at Sts. Cyril and Methodius and Holy Name of Jesus, a true Yankees fan, an avid bowler until the age of 95, enjoyed playing pinochle with friends and cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. George is survived by two sons, John Katinger of Milis, Mass. and George E. Katinger and wife Elaine of Stratford, one daughter, Marien M. Kurbikoff and husband Paul of Beacon Falls, six grandchildren, Scott Katinger and wife Amy, Alison Katinger, Josh Katinger and wife Allison, Sarah Katinger, Erin Barkasy and husband Russell and U.S.M.C. Captain Karl Kurbikoff and wife Lisa, two great grandchildren, Alexander and Marisa Kurbikoff, and several nieces and nephews.
