Hames, Sylvia E. Sylvia E. Hames, age 79, Hernando, died January 26, 2015 under the loving care of her family and HPH Hospice. Sylvia was born on May 29, 1935 in New Canaan, CT to the late Carl and Maria ( Gunsler) Young. She was a computer technician for several companies, working for Borden, Inc. Dairies for 17 years and Jack Maresa Dairy for 5 years as well as Victors Temporary. She enjoyed cruising, bowling and walking. Sylvia will be dearly missed by her husband of 44 years, Robert Hames, Hernando; her son Gary Shelomis, Ansonia, CT; daughter Patricia Shelomis (Jay Correia), Shelton, CT; stepson Robert Hames (Wendy) Seymour, CT and stepdaughter Kimberly Hames, Ansonia, CT; grandchildren Chris Pelaccia, Frank Pelaggi, Robert Correia, Kristy, Kara, Kory, Robert Hames and Emily Shelomis. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is assisting the family with private arrangements. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date in Connecticut.

Hanley, Francis - Ridgefield  
Hanley, Francis X. Francis X. Hanley, age 87, of Ridgefield, beloved husband of Dorothy M. Hanley, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015. In addition to his loving wife, Dorothy, Francis is survived by his three children, John, Dorothy, and Thomas; three grandchildren, Claire, Trevor, and Patricia. The youngest of six siblings, Frank was born and educated in Bronx, NY, where he later met and married his wife, Dorothy McKenna. Frank was an athlete, enjoyed camping, Boy Scouting, and his favorite pet poodle, "Princess". He loved his country and served in the United States Air Force from 1945-1947. For most of his life, Frank lived in Norwalk, CT and retired to Ridgefield, CT, where he enjoyed long rides through the Connecticut country side with his beloved wife, Dorothy. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:30 AM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Hansen, Jean F. Jean F. Hansen, age 77 of Crosby, TX previously of Stratford, Connecticut passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.. She was born in Bridgeport Connecticut on March 25, 1937 the daughter of the late John Mihalov and Mary Urda. Prior to her retirement she was an executive assistant for Macy's. She was preceded in death by her brother John Mihalov and sister Anna Salamon both of Stratford Connecticut. She is survived by her loving children; Gary Kolenda of Prescott, Arizona, Michael Kolenda of Crosby, TX, Chet Kolenda of Hollywood, FL, James Kolenda of Ashville, NC and Susan Hansen of Crosby, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Dylan and Samantha Woods of Crosby, TX and her nephew Jim Salamon, and nephews John Mihalov and Paul Mihalov. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:30 am at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Stratford . Hilgerink, Pauline - Seymour  
Hilgerink, Pauline Pauline Hilgerink, age 90, of Seymour, the beloved wife of 29 years of the late Bernard Hilgerink, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Vitas of St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bridgeport on May 9, 1924, daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine Kaplavka. Pauline was a resident of the Norman Ray House of Seymour where she enjoyed planning parties, playing bingo and doing puzzles with the other residents. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Pauline's loving family includes her son Walter Guralski and his wife Donna of Woodbury, her daughter Renee Kmetz and her husband Robert of Beacon Falls, her brother John Kaplavka and his wife Jeanette of Milford, her four cherished grandchildren Amanda Hayes and her husband Brian, Aaron Guralski, Robert Kmetz, Jr. and his wife Melanie and David Kmetz, her cherished great grandchildren Sydney Kmetz and Colby Kmetz and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Guralski, her sister Helen Mandrona and her two brothers Mickey and Steve Kaplavka. The family would like to thank the many people who cared for Pauline especially the staffs at Shady Knoll, Griffin Hospital and Xavier 4 of Vitas Health Care. Your love and care are greatly appreciated. Interment, with a Graveside Service in Memory of Pauline will be held at the family plot on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 12 noon at St. John's Baptist Cemetery, 2610 Nichols Ave, Stratford. Hoff, Helen - Stratford  
Hoff, Helen Lesinsky. Helen Lesinsky Hoff, age 102, beloved wife of the late Otto Hoff, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Gardner Heights Health Center, Shelton. Mrs. Hoff, a homemaker was born in Bridgeport on January 27, 1912 to the late John and Maria (Laler) Lesinsky and has been a life long area resident. Survivors include her beloved daughters, Geri Zimmerman and her husband Norman and Barbara Jacovino all of Stratford, 7 cherished grandchildren, Philip (Beverly) Jacovino, Jacqueline Jacovino, Pamela Zimmerman, Leslee Zimmerman, Jamie Zimmerman, David (Susan) Zimmerman and Eric (Karin) Zimmerman, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Irene Mailloux of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by 5 brothers, and 3 sisters. Holcomb, Joanne - Stratford  
Holcomb, Joanne Joanne Torino Holcomb, 61, of Stratford, and formerly of Norwalk, died Tuesday, January 20th in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the wife of Jeffrey Holcomb. Born in New Haven, November 24, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Morse Torino. Prior to retirement in the late 1990's, Mrs. Holcomb was a banker with the former Union Trust Company, in the New Haven area, and later with Wachovia Bank in Shelton. Joanne was an avid UCONN Huskies fan and adored Boston Terriers, especially her "Spike". Survivors in addition to her husband include two brothers; Gerald Torino, of New Haven, and Robert Torino, of Wallingford, a sister; Janice Bradley, of Hamden, an aunt; Marie Morse, of North Haven, as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday, January 25th, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, from 3:00 to 6:30 P.M. A prayer service will commence at 6:30 PM. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Hornyak, Daniel - Norwalk  
Hornyak, Daniel T. Daniel Hornyak, 62, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Dan born in Norwalk, attended Brien McMahon High School and furthered his studies at Norwalk State Technical College. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1970 and served his country as a Telecommunications Specialist. Fondly known as "Dan, the T-Shirt Man", he owned and operated Shirt Graphics in Fairfield for thirty-nine years, operating exclusively by personal referral. Dan took great joy in expressing his love for his Savior through vocal ministry in the Men's Quartet and Choral Ensemble. God also used Dan's life-experiences to encourage others wounded by divorce, as Dan mentored a "Divorce Care" class for four years. He will be missed by so many: his father, Ernest Hornyak and his wife Linda; a sister, MaryAnn Erickson; his brother, Anthony Pignatore; 5 nieces; 3 nephews; his beloved and dearest friend, Christina Francello, beloved friends Joe, Sue and Whitney who, along with Christina, faithfully upheld him during his illness; as well as many brothers and sisters in Christ. He was predeceased by his mother Theresa Hornyak. Until we see you again, Dan! A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Trinity Baptist Church.
