Rivera, Lydia - Bridgeport  
Rivera , Lydia Lydia Torres Rivera, age 91 of Bridgeport passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was the widow of George L. Rivera Sr.. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico she was a daughter of the late Manuel Torres Santiago and Bernarda Romas Rosado. She is survived by her son Jorge L. Rivera Jr. and his wife Patricia of Florida, her grandchildren; Harry, Jorge III, Jamie, Jackie, Mark Anthony and Ciara Rivera. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her sons; Aristedes ( Harry) Rivera and Mark S. Rivera. A Mass of Christian of Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Charles Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Rogers, Alice - Bridgeport  
ROGERS, ALICE B. Alice B. Rogers, age 80 of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest Monday, December 15, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Crewe, VA to the late Clinton and Dorothy Jefferson Rogers, Alice had been a resident of Bridgeport for more than fifty years. She was currently employed at Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield as the executive in charge of housekeeping, with more than fifty years of service. Her spiritual needs were met as a former disciple of Shiloh Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, a daughter, Jacqueline Rogers predeceased her. She leaves to cherish her memory, three brothers, Ernest and Walter Rogers of Bridgeport, and Alfred Rogers of VA; four sisters, Grace Smith and Florence Sparks of Bridgeport, Mary Dobson of SC and Shirley Rawlings of NC; two grandchildren, Shaune and Latoya Rogers of Bridgeport; five great-grandchildren; a cousin/sister, Thelma Artis; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 22, 2014, 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of Praise, 45 Gregory St., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport. Rosenthal, Hector L. Hector L. Rosenthal, age 77 of Bridgeport passed away peacefully December 9, 2014 in his home. He is survived by his wife Marie S. Rosenthal, son Joseph Rosenthal and his wife Ola, daughters Michelle Oakes and her husband Jeremy, and Beth Rosenthal, grandchildren Benjamin and Theodore Oakes. Funeral services will be private. Rosoff, Stanley - Bridgeport  
Rosoff, Stanley Stanley Rosoff died at the age of 88 at his home. He was born in New Bedford Massachusetts. His father and mother were Samuel and Phoebe Rosoff. Stanley moved to Bridgeport when he was 5 years old. He attended Madison Elementary school and graduated from Central High School. Stanley attended the University of Connecticut for one semester while also serving in the US Army Reserve. He joined the Army and was a member of the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1943. Stanley was proud to have served in the Pacific and Korea. Stanley returned to the University of Connecticut and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked at Raybestos, Pitney Bowes, Gibson and Remington Rand before opening his own business, Security Resources in Westport Connecticut. Stanley retired in 1995. He began volunteering with Habitat for Humanity helping to build many houses. He enjoyed working with his hands and there was not a tool that he did not like. He also volunteered at the Norwalk Maritime Center. Stanley and his wife Elaine traveled around the world more than one time. He enjoyed meeting with new people, learning about other cultures, and exploring new lands. But most important to him was his family. For the past 20 years he dedicated countless hours exploring, discovering and developing the family tree. Each of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins meant so much to him. Stanley is survived by his wife Elaine of 66 years and his three children and their spouses; Mark and Ingrid Roseff of Fort Collins, Colorado, Renee (Rosoff) and Ron Noren of Easton, Gary Rosoff of Bridgeport and Ellen Leon Rosoff of Bridgeport. He will be missed by his grandchildren; Jacob and Yuki Rosoff of Hong Kong, Rebecca (Rosoff) and Corey Bowen of Colorado, Adam and Maya Noren of Stamford, Trevor Noren and Damaris Colhoun of Brooklyn, Parker Noren and his longtime girlfriend Ariane Stern of Manhattan, Stephanie Rosoff of Queens and Samuel Rosoff of Bridgeport, his seven great grandchildren; Shino, Leo, and Kana Rosoff, Ryan and Ashley Bowen, and Cyrus and June Noren, and by his sister Edith Mayerson of California. Stanley was pre-deceased by his brother, Allan Rosoff of California. Stanley always said, "if you have to pick one, come to my party, skip my funeral". He did always enjoy a good party. Services were held December 21, 2014 at Congregation B'nai Israel in Bridgeport with interment at B'nai Israel Cemetery. Rucker, Renee Mrs. Renee Dukes Rucker, age 61, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014. She was born January 22, 1953 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She retired from the United States Postal Service. She was of the Methodist Faith and served as an usher at her home church for many years. She loved bowling, dancing, playing Bingo and attending weddings. She was preceded in death by her father, Wiley Dukes, Sr.; grandchild, Quadell Corbin Hardison and brother, Wiley Dukes, Jr. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tomeeka Hardison of Douglasville and Topeeka and Darren Knight of Douglasville; mother and stepfather, Ivory G. and William Carr; sisters, Cynthia Mahan, Debra Douglas, and Ion Sanchez all of Bridgeport, CT; brothers, Anthony Dukes of Asheville, NC and Elton Dukes of Bridgeport, CT; grandchildren, Quadean Hardison, Quentin Hardison, Da'Naisha Knight, and Da'Von Knight; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Anthony Neely officiating.
