Aldo J. Rondini, 93, of Fairfield, passed away on January 21, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia Rondini. Aldo was born in Derby, the son of the late Ida (Bartilucci) and Enrico Rondini and married Virginia Grassi in Fairfield on September 26, 1941. He later built their house and enjoyed 58 loving years together. Aldo was a World War II veteran with the 75Th Infantry Division and received the purple heart after being wounded in Dusseldorf, Germany. He was employed for 39 years as an Iron Worker for Local Union #424 and served as a supervisor on many large construction projects throughout the state of Connecticut. He is survived by his two sons: Ronald H. Rondini and his wife Helen of Shelton and Richard B. Rondini and his fiancee, Donna Feeney, of Beacon Falls. Also three grandchildren; Lianne La Torre and husband Richard, of Madison, RJ Rondini and wife Isabelle, of Boston, MA; and Alexa Rondini of Shelton. He was the proud great-grandfather of Anabelle and Olivia La Torre as well as Kelsey, Lauren, and Annie Rondini. He is also survived by a brother, Henry Rondini and his wife, Pat of Lady Lake, FL. He was predeceased by a brother , Wilson Rondini and a sister, Jennie Moretti. Al enjoyed retirement golfing at H. Smith Richardson Golf Course, attending many family gatherings and traveling locally with special friends. A private family Memorial service will take place on Monday at 11:30 am at the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave, Bridgeport.
