Annie Jean Lofton

Annie Jean Lofton, age 66 of Hamden entered into eternal rest Monday, November 11, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Bridgeport to the late David and Annie Bell Gunter Johnson she was recently a resident of Hamden for the last three years. She was also a former resident of New Haven and the majority of her residency was spent in Stratford and Bridgeport. Annie was a disciple of Ebenezer Gospel Assembly and served as a Missionary, former member of the EGA Ensemble and the Hospitality Ministry. She served her country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corps, was honorably discharged and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves after nineteen years of service. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Dramous (Ana) Lofton of KY; two daughters, E. Amanda Lofton and Adrienne Lofton of Hamden; two brothers, David Dwight Johnson of West Haven and Christopher Howard Johnson of Hamden; three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013, 10:00 AM at Ebenezer Gospel Assembly, 291 Bunnell St., Bridgeport with Pastor Thomas Hayes, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends are invited to the viewing Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the church. See
