Klein, Burton S.
Burton "Buddy" Klein, 80, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. He is survived by his children, Lenny Klein and his wife Jennifer of Fairfield, Lisa Klein Lebowitz and her husband Andy Lebowitz of Glastonbury, as well as his devoted sister, Laura Klein Amdur of Bridgeport. Buddy was also the proud "Pa" to his grandchildren; Sammy Klein, Lidia Klein, Shayna Lebowitz, and Zac Lebowitz. He is predeceased by the love of his life, Sharon Rich Klein. Buddy spent his entire life in the area and was known and loved by many for his jovial demeanor and his good-hearted nature. He became interested in his trade as a television technician while serving his country in the communications room on a Navy submarine during the Korean War. After he returned home from his service he was employed for many years by the RCA Service Company in Norwalk. One of Buddy's passions in life was baseball, especially his beloved Yankees. During the summer months his transistor radio was never far from his side so he could listen to "the game." He would happily discuss the Yankees with anyone he came across in his travels. Graveside services will be held TODAY at 3:30 pm at the Ahavath Achim Cemetery, 250 Reid Street, Fairfield, CT. Family will receive visitors immediately following the service at the home of Jennifer and Lenny Klein. Donations in Buddy's memory may be made to the Jewish Home, www.jhe.org.

On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI), we offer our most sincere condolences and sympathy to his children Lenny (Jennifer) and Lisa (Andy), sister Laura, and to all of Buddy's family and friends in this time of sorrow and grief. I pray that God will bless you with peace, comfort, and the healing of your broken hearts. We are especially thankful for Buddy's courageous service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service during the Korean War. To our “Brother of the Dolphin” we say … "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. May you rest in peace and may God bless your loved ones who remain. Thank you for your service to our country."
So, heavenly Father add his name to the roll
Of our departed shipmates still on patrol.
Let them know that we who survive
Will always keep their memories alive.
Bless those who serve beneath the deep,
Through lonely hours their vigil keep.
May peace their mission ever be!
Protect each one, we ask of Thee.
Bless those at home who wait and pray
For their return by night and day.
