Duane Elvin Fleming

Duane Elvin Fleming, age 62 of VA, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, December 12, 2013 at the Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, VA. Born in Bridgeport to the late Elvin and Bernice McIntosh Fleming, Duane resided most of his life in Bridgeport until he moved to VA almost two years ago. He was educated in the Bridgeport public school system, graduating from Central High School with honors. He continued his education attending Housatonic Community College, Benedict University and Wilberforce University. Duane served his country in the US Army, was honorably discharged and distinguished himself as a marksman and received a Purple Heart. He was employed by the State of CT Judicial Department as a Child Support Enforcement Investigator with eighteen years of service. In addition to his parents his wife, OK Kyong Fleming, a brother Keith Fleming and a nephew Ean Fleming predeceased him. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Raneka (Michael) Fleming-Lockhart and Whitney Fleming; a brother, Glenn Fleming; a sister, Vanessa Fleming; nephew Jared Fleming all of Bridgeport; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013, 12 Noon at Morton's Mortuary, Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport with Bishop V. Keith Nelson, officiating.
