Cashman, Elizabeth A.
Elizabeth A. McCabe Cashman, age 84 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Paul R. Cashman, passed away, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Elizabeth was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Kelly McCabe and was a lifelong resident. She received her Bachelor of Science from New Haven State Teachers College and was a twenty four year elementary school teacher with the Bridgeport School System. She was a member of the Bridgeport, Connecticut, and National Association of Retired Teachers, and the Council of Catholic Women. Elizabeth was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister; she also enjoyed her time spent in both the choir and the Women of Assumption. She touched so many people's lives with her strong faith and concern for others. Her presence will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her six children; Paul R. Cashman Jr., of Bridgeport, Peter J. Cashman of Bridgeport, Patrick J. Cashman and wife Kathleen of Bridgeport, Mary E. Boudreau and husband Donald of Milford, Timothy G. Cashman and wife Andrea of Milford, and Jane M. Hull and husband William of Milford, eight grandchildren; Colleen M. Cashman Gilligan and husband Francis, Michelle A. Cashman, Brian L. Boudreau, David P. Boudreau, Maureen J. Cashman, Dina G. Cashman, William B. Hull, and Elizabeth M. Hull, a great granddaughter Charlotte Maria Gilligan, one niece, three nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Wynne. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m., from the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 9:00 a.m., in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
