Frances C. Coventry, 99, of Minoa, NY, formerly of Fairfield, died Nov. 6th in St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, NY. Born March 10, 1914 in Johnstown, PA, she was the only daughter of the late Harry and Anna Cupp and is survived by her children Edward D. Coventry (Jennifer) of New Bern, NC, Sandra Palmer (Jeff) of Cazenovia, NY and Larry D. Coventry of Fairfield, CT. Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her brothers Dwight, Harry, Sanford, and Paul Cupp. She attended Penn State University , Johnston College of Music, University of Bridgeport and Butler Business School and worked many years for area businesses including Fairfield Lumber Co., Shelton Stroller Dress Co., the Town of Stratford and Denver Chemical. She was a long time Fairfield resident and was active in politics, the Senior Center and was a member of the Fairfield Taxpayers Association. She was involved in establishing the Independence Party and was it's first candidate for First Selectman. She was involved in numerous political and senior activities in the Minoa/Manlius /Fayetteville, NY area and was still driving daily up to the week of her death.
