Tatangelo, George A.
George Anthony Tatangelo, 86, of Fairfield, passed peacefully at home on August 24, 2013, surrounded by the love and laughter of family and friends. Although his departure was heartbreaking, it was a glorious day for George as he reunited in heaven with his parents, Clara and Anthony, his daughter-in-law Lizz, and other loved ones. George was a compassionate, gentle, and generous man. He was unconditionally devoted to his family and those he welcomed into his family through marriage and love. George extended his generosity, kindness, and wisdom to those he taught and mentored, those he collaborated with in business, and those he worked with as a volunteer and community member. His spirit will forever be loved and remembered in the hearts of his family, leaving behind Louise, his wife and best friend of 66 beautiful years. He was the beloved father to his daughter Jeanne and husband Dana Ulvi, son Gary, and son Glenn and wife Tina. He was cherished and loved by his grandchildren, Danielle and husband Alex Bijanada, Michael Engle and wife Nikki, Anthony and fiancé Sumer, Chantal, Brianne and Michael. He was deeply loved by his very special great grandson, Caleb George, who was George's "bonus" and so brightened the last two years of his life. He left behind his loving sister Ann Marie and husband Jon Mercurio, and his nieces and their families. The family would like to especially thank Angie and Louie Spetrino, Jo and Fred Galpin and Joannie and Ray Rasmussen who were his devoted friends. In keeping with his never being in a hurry, and honoring his willingness to take time to do things right, our Memorial Mass for Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Papa George will take place at Holy Cross Church at 750 Tahmore Drive in Fairfield on October 5, 2013 at 12:00pm. A Celebration of Life will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.StJude.org/donate
