Dr. Gerald Arndt, 76, of Westport, CT passed away on April 15, 2013 from Parkinson's Disease.
He is survived by his wife Dr. Nancy Arndt and two daughters, Catherine Hare of Encinitas, CA and Leslie Cavaliere of Redwood City, CA; and one grandson, William E.P. Hare. Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Gerald Arndt was born on May 10, 1936 in Kennan, Wisconsin. He graduated from Northland College in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. After graduating from Northland College, he went on to earn a Master of Arts degree with the University of Minnesota in 1960 and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Rochester in 1969. Dr. Arndt was a licensed marriage and family therapist in Westport, Connecticut, where he was in private practice with his wife Nancy, Some of his career highlights include developing a nationally accredited marriage and family master's degree program for the University of Bridgeport (where he was a faculty member from 1969 to 1990) and serving as the area coordinator and therapist for Lutheran Family Services in Bridgeport, CT from 1972-1985. Dr. Arndt served as President of the Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and was a recipient of the Outstanding Service Award from the association.
Dr. Arndt moved to Carlsbad, CA in with his wife, Nancy, in 2010 and was a resident at Silverado Senior Living when he passed. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
