Joseph J. Hanson

HANSON Joseph J. Hanson, age 71 of Milford, beloved husband for 47 years to Louise Brashear Hanson, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at St. Vincent Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Mr. Hanson was born in Bridgeport, December 29, 1937, the son of Sophie Clark of Milford and stepson of the late Fred Clark. He was a Milford resident for 39 years. Mr. Hanson was retired from L.P. McAdams Co. and was also employed at Regal Business Forms as a printer for many years. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Louise and mother, Sophie, include his four children, Cheryl Krenke and Elaine Krenke and her fiancee, Louis Maranda, all of West Haven, James Hanson and his wife, Allison of Arizona and Thomas Hanson and his wife, Kelly of Milford; seven grandchildren, Chris, Jamie, Rebecca, James, Kevin, Courtney and Shane; two brothers, William Hanson of Massachusetts and Robert Hanson and his wife, Barbara of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hanson was predeceased by his father, William Hanson and by his sister, Shirley Tait and her husband, David. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Interment will be in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Tuesday (TODAY) 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New England Hemophilia Foundation, 347 Washington Street, Suite 402, Dedham, MA 02026 in Mr. Hanson's memory.
