Zeisler, Lois Faye
Lois Faye Shrebnik Zeisler of Fairfield passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born December 27, 1933 to Max Shrebnik and Frances Cooper Shrebnik. She grew up in New Haven, Conn., a city that she loved, and graduated Hillhouse High School, Class of 1951. She then earned her teaching degree from Leslie College in Boston, Class of 1955, and went on to teach in the Bridgeport school system for many years; she loved her kindergarteners. Lois got married and raised two boys in the Fairfield lake house that was reconstructed from a barn. She designed the house herself, which was featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Her many other accomplishments include becoming a Bridge Life Master in 1983, traveling the world, finishing the NY Times crossword puzzle many times, surviving breast cancer
for 30 years, and swimming with the dolphins at age 70. She enjoyed all music; but especially loved attending the New Orleans Jazz Festival year after year. She loved sailing, swimming in her lake and spending time at her "little house" in Florida. She is predeceased by her mother and father and her beloved son, Jeff Zeisler. She is survived by her son, Steve Zeisler, his wife Yvonne, and her grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, and Ben, who were Grandma Lolo's greatest pride and joy. We will truly miss our magic grandma, and her chicken soup, peanut butter pie, and back scratches. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
