Marie V. "Miller" Ditore, age 86 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late William Miller and John Ditore, passed away peacefully Monday, February 17, 2014 with her daughter by her side. She was born the daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica Kish. Marie was a graduate of Bassick High School. She worked at Fairfield University in the registrar's office, was the owner of French's Cleaners on Main St. in Bridgeport with her husband John and then later as a librarian in the Bridgeport Public Library System. Marie was an avid reader which attributed to her working for the library. She also enjoyed her news, CNN, Fox News, CSPAN and was a big sports fan keeping up with UCONN Basketball and the New York Giants. Survivors include her son William Miller and his wife Debbi of Fairfield, daughter Wendy Gagnon and her husband Mark of Oxford, grandchildren, Kyle and his wife Ashley, Jessica, Kimberly, Allison and her husband Shawn, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Mark William, great grandchildren Michael, Peyton, and Harper. She is predeceased by her son Jeffrey, Husbands William Miller and John Ditore, sisters Irene Hogan and Helen Levesque. A funeral Service will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S Benson Rd., Fairfield. Friends may greet the family in the funeral home from 10:00 AM up until the time of the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie's memory to the Bridgeport Public Library, Black Rock Branch, 2705 Fairfield Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06605, (203) 576-7025.
