Paul R. Chevrette, age 81, of Fairfield died on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in his home surrounded by his devoted and loving family. Born in Dracut, MA on October 7, 1931, he was the son of Edgar and Alice Allard Chevrette. Paul was a veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955 as an Aviation structural mechanic 2nd class. He was a sheet metal worker with Local Union #39. He was an active softball player, member of a bowling league, enjoyed playing pool, and was an active member of Saint Pius Men's Guild. Paul was an avid sports fan. He especially loved the UCONN Women's basketball team. Survivors include his three children and their families Linda Malkin and her daughter Danielle of Shelton; Carol Sandor and her husband Mike and their children Jessica and Jonathan of Oxford; and David Chevrette and his wife Diana and their children Sabrina and Kayla of Trumbull as well as several nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 46 years, Mary O'Hara Chevrette, brother Robert, sister Marcelle Morrisey, and brother-in-law Edward O'Hara. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. meeting DIRECTLY in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military Honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends and family may call Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P/M. in the Spear Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
