Violet Bradshaw Hine

HINE Violet Bradshaw Hine, age 94 of Ansonia, died Monday at Shady Knoll Health Care with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late William L. Hine. Mrs. Hine was born in Woodbridge, March 12, 1915, daughter of the late George and Martha Scoff Bradshaw. She was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption, graduate of Ansonia High School and has lived in Ansonia most of her life. A retired employee in the offices of UniRoyal in Naugatuck, Violet loved swimming at the Ansonia YMCA and being with her club ladies who were her friends for many years. Cape Cod was her favorite place to visit. Survivors include her three daughters, Marcia Skuret and her husband, Atty. Daniel D. Skuret, Elizabeth Gill Swanet and her husband, David Swanet and Maureen Parente and her husband, Nunzio Parente; two granddaughters, Lisa Skuret and Kerry Gill Osterhaut; and sever grandsons, Atty. Daniel D. Skuret III, Atty. Patrick D. Skuret, Nicholas Parente, Adam Parente, William T. Hine, Thomas Hine, and Roger Gill; five great-grandchildren, Daniel IV, Dimitri and Janina Skuret and Tyler and Dylan Osterhaut. She was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Murray, Mary Seabury Skiparis and Grace Smith; and two brothers, Edward and Dick Bradshaw. Violet loved her family with all her heart and spoke often about how proud she was of them all. Family and friends may call Sunday, October 11, 2009 in the John T. Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff St., Ansonia from 4 to 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Monday, October 12, 2009 at 9:30 from the funeral home to the Church of the Assumption for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living with Lyme Disease in care of the funeral home.
