Alfred Grabarz, age 81, formerly of Derby passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Narowski) Grabarz.
Alfred was born in Radom, Poland on March 21, 1932 a son of the late Stanley and Josephine (Blaszczyk) Grabarz.
He was a retired Heat Treating Specialist for the former A. H. Nilson Machine Company for over 25 years.
Alfred is survived by four children, John Grabarz of North Branford, Andrew Grabarz and his wife, Gina of East Haven, Andrea DeLucia and her husband, Robert of Wolcott, Alfreda Mikulak and her husband, Steve of Wolcott, a brother, Henry Grabarz and his wife, Irmena of Shelton, seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Patricia, Steven, Andrew, Justin and Rebecca and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Frances and his brother, Joseph Grabarz
Friends may call on Friday morning from 9 - 10:30 am at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby, CT. His funeral will leave the funeral home after the calling hours at 10:30 am to St. Michael Church, Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Derby.
