Anne Tighe Obituary

Tighe, Anne
Anne R. Tighe, age 85, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to the late Daniel L. Tighe, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She was born in New Haven on April 3, 1928 and was the daughter of the late James and Mary Devlin Doyle. Anne was a resident of Morningside for 48 years and a member of the Morningside Athletic Club and the Point Beach PTA. She raised seven sons, three of whom served in the U.S. Army, and was a Bronze Star mother. Tending to her gardens, early morning walks, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox were some of her favorite pastimes. She volunteered reading to the blind and was a devout communicant of St. Agnes Church. Anne will be remembered for her spirited and charitable nature, and also as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Anne is survived by her children Lawrence J. Tighe (Linda), James P. Tighe (Caroline), Dennis J. Tighe (Prathuang), John E. Tighe (Janine), and Daniel M. Tighe (Alison), her cherished grandchildren, Michael Tighe, Michele Carbone, Kevin, Melissa, Daniel, Bank, Erika, Amanda, Daniel J., William, Matthew, and Rebecca Tighe, and great grandchild, Julia Carbone. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard and William Doyle, Eileen Kelleher, and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Thomas D. and Timothy J. Tighe, and her siblings Mary, James, Francis, Regina, and Elizabeth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 24th at 11:00am (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH) at St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave., in Milford. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Sunday, March 23rd from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
