Dolores Ann (D'Amico) Stafko, 73, beloved wife of Philip D. Stafko, of Sandy Hook CT, died surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a brave battle with cancer on December 22, 2013 at Danbury Hospital. She was born on December 31, 1939 in Bridgeport, CT and was the daughter of the late Michael and Bessie (Ginolfi) D'Amico. Mrs. Stafko was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport.
Dolores adored young children. She was a nanny and caregiver to a number of children, each of whom have a special place for her in their hearts.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by her two cherished children, Sharon (Stafko) Carter and her husband Jeff of Hopkinton, MA and Daniel Stafko and his wife Karen of Southington, CT. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Brian and Alyssa Carter; Nicholas, Michael and Kimberly Stafko; two siblings, Mary (D'Amico) Piccuillo of Trumbull, CT and Peter D'Amico of Shelton, CT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Rose of Lima Church 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown on Tuesday, December 31st at 10 am.
