Elizabeth J. Palmucci, age 88, of Middletown, formerly of Shelton, entered into rest on Saturday January 11, 2014 in her home with her loving family by her side. She is the devoted wife of the late Samuel Palmucci; the love of her life to whom she was married for 49 years. She was born in Ansonia on June 14, 1925, the daughter of the late James Maloney and Goldie Maloney Wailonis and was a resident of Shelton for most of her life before retiring to Boyton Beach Florida in 1992 and returning to CT in 1999. Elizabeth graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing and was employed at Griffin Hospital and Long Hill Convalescent Home until her retirement. She loved to playing pinochle.She is the beloved mother of Christine Palmucci and Sharon Fritz (Rob), loving grandmother of Corey Vincent Blank, Kelsey Ann Blank, Casey James Blank, and Samuel Palmucci Blank, sister of Mary Mahan (Jake), Patty O'Donnell. She is also survived by her former son-in-law Gerald Blank and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Colleen Palmucci and two brothers Joe and Don Maloney. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Rd. Shelton. Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 10:15 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary Church, Derby. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Samuel Palmucci Scholarship fund to benefit students at Derby High School through the funeral director
