Elliot Alfaro age 64 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 30 years to Martha Ortiz Alfaro died peacefully on Monday August 25, 2014 with his devoted family by his side. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico he was the Son of Santiago and Francisca Arce Alfaro. A resident of Bridgeport for over 61 years, he was a 31 year retired Bridgeport Firefighter and veteran serving in the Air Force. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching and following the Yankees and college basketball. He enjoyed salsa music and was an accomplished dancer, but most of all his life centered upon his family. He was admired by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A special note of thanks to Dr. David Witt and Dr. John Paul Ayala and their staffs for their compassionate care. He will be sadly missed by his canine companion Gizmo. Survivors in addition to his wife Martha are his children, Elliot Alfaro Jr. of FL., Alexis Alfaro of Bridgeport, Lauren Alfaro and her fiance Kevin Dodson Jr. of Bridgeport, a grandson Alexander Alfaro, several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to go Directly to St. Andrews Church on Friday August 29, 2014 at 10:30am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
