BROWN, ELVINA
Elvina Brown, age 71 of Middletown, CT formerly of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Waters Edge Health Care Center, Middletown. Born in St. Thomas, Jamaica West Indies to the late Joshua and Edith R. Hines Datt, Elvina has been a resident of Middletown for the past two years; prior to that she was a resident of Bridgeport for thirty-two years. She was a self-employed childcare provider for more than thirty years. Elvina was a disciple of the Tabernacle of Praise in Bridgeport , however she has been under watch care at the Calvary Church of God in Christ in Hartford. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a daughter, Elaine Brown Williams. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Elanza P. Brown of Middletown; two sons, Stephen (Simone) Brown and Dave S. (Angela) Brown all of Bridgeport; a daughter, Blanche Vanessa Brown of Middletown; a sister, Louise (Emanuel) Brown of Jamaica, WI; seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1, 2013, 12:00 Noon at the Cathedral of Praise, 45 Gregory St., with Pastor David Lee, officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport following the service. Friends are invited to the viewing Friday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the church. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers.
