SMITH, JERRY W.
Jerry W. Smith, age 53 of Stratford entered into eternal rest Monday, October 14, 2013 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chesterfield, SC to Sarah Rorie Smith and the late William H. Smith, Jerry has resided in Stratford for the past sixteen years. Prior to moving to Stratford Jerry was a resident of Bridgeport for thirty-two years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. Jerry was employed as an assembler at Sikorsky for nineteen years. Survivors include a son, Jerry W. Smith and daughter, Latoya (Lonnie) Mebane both of Stratford; his mother, Sarah Rorie Smith Newkirk of Bridgeport; a brother, Tommy Ray Smith of Stratford; two sisters, Patricia Louder of Bridgeport and Verda Pollard of FL; his life partner, Dawn Spears Smith of Stratford, three grandchildren, Christian, Kaleb and London; two nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 2013, 11:00 AM at Morton's Mortuary, Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport with Brother Richard Stevenson, officiating. Interment will take place in the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown with full military honors following the service.
