Bilischko, John
John Bilischko, age 90, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in his home. Mr. Bilischko, a U.S. Army Veteran of the 5th and 8th Armored Division, serving in the European Theater of WW II, was born in Bridgeport to the late Alexander and Helen (Kerecman) Bilischko and has been a life long Bridgeport and Stratford resident, living in Florida for seven years, before returning to live in Farmington. He was a graduate of Harding High School and the University of Bridgeport, and worked for Columbia Records, and was a retired accountant for Monroe Concrete Company. Survivors include his sister-in-law Lorine Bilisko, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved parents, John was pre-deceased by his brothers Michael, Stephen, George, and William and sisters Anna, Mary, Eva, Ann, and Dorothy Bilischko, Julia Serknis, and Susan Snee. . Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 6th at 8:15am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 9:00 in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Mill Hill Avenue Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full Military Honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Panachida will be at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations in John's memory to the Kitchen Fund at St. John's Church.
