Karen Drapp Obituary
Karen A. (Vitkowski) Drapp, age 62, of Stratford, died at her home on Thursday, April 10, 2014.
Karen was born in Bridgeport to the late John and Barbara (Doran) Vitkowski. She was a lifelong Stratford resident graduating from Bunnell High School in 1970. She had worked at Bridgeport Hospital for 25 years as a supervisor to Patient Escort until retiring in 1996. She owned and help operate her husband's bar, The Avenue Restaurant, until selling it in 2003. Karen began working for Affinion Group in Trumbull in 2004 where she loved working on computers and with people in customer service. She was outgoing, bubbly, witty and always had a funny sarcastic comment for her friends and family. Karen wore many different hats throughout life caring for others. She was an excellent cook and was known for sharing her many Slovak recipes with her large family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, John (Jackie) Witkowski; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors include her husband of almost 36 years, John C. Drapp, Jr. of Stratford; her son, Attorney John C. Drapp III of Stratford; devoted daughter, Marisa L. Drapp of Bridgeport; several cousins and extended family; and her loving grand-dog, Lilly, who she loved very, very much; and neighbor dogs, Alex and Sammie who she was a surrogate Grammie for.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 10:30 am at Holy Name of Jesus Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.

My condolences to the Drapp family. I'm very sorry for your loss. I don't know Karen but heard many wonderful stories about her, and have tasted some of her wonderful cooking. Knowing the woman Marisa is says a lot about who her mother was. She must have been a spectacular lady. She will live on through you Marisa. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
