Ludmila, "Luda" McMahon, 90, formerly of Milford and Derby, beloved wife to the late Terrence McMahon, died peacefully Tuesday, December 10, at the home of her daughter Ellen Mette with whom she resided. Born on December 4th, 1923 in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Igor and Antonina Trull Masloff. Being raised in the Philippines, Ludmila was a graduate of St. Paul's College, Manila. She was a member of Legions of Mary and made hundreds of rosary beads which were distributed throughout the world via missionary work. She and her husband were avid travelers and visited Asia, Europe, and Africa. She much enjoyed family gatherings, pride in her cooking, and tending to her garden. In her later years she took up oil painting and took great pleasure in sharing her paintings with family and friends. Ludmila will be truly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her daughter Ellen (Richard) she is survived by her daughters Olga Ryder, MA; Jane Masson (Dana) of Wallingford, and Theresa Currier, CA; 9 grandchildren Adam (Alicia) Ryder, Quinn Ryder, Colleen Masson, Bryan Masson, Clayton (Abbie) Currier, Daniel (Cassandra) Currier, David Currier, Kelly Mette and Rebecca Mette, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her siblings Olga Tripucka, NJ, Antonina Brengle, CA, and Igor Masloff, AK. She was predeceased by her son Thomas; and sisters Victoria, Helen, and Eugenia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 16th, 2013 at 12PM at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf Street, Milford, CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ludmila's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 2911 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden CT 06518.
