Marie Melone Obituary
Marie A. Melone, age 87, of Milford, beloved wife of Dominick A. Melone for 67 years, died peacefully, with her family by her side on Sunday, May 11. Marie was born in Bridgeport, CT on November 3, 1926 to the late Joseph and Lizzie Alteiri Roberts. Survivors include her children: Robert and Mary Melone of North Haven, Janis Melone and Bryan Smallman of New Haven, four grandchildren; Emily and Bryan Cretella, Sara and John Cannon, and Stefaan and Julian Dupont, two great-grandchildren, Avery and Madelynn Cretella and brothers, Harold and Joseph Roberts. Marie is predeceased by her sister Edith and brothers, John and Daniel. Friends and family may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM in The Gregory F Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A service will be held at 11:00AM in the funeral home followed by a burial in Saint Mary Cemetery, Milford. Dear Janis and family, I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I just lost my mom on May 1st, 4 days shy of her 88th birthday. So, I KNOW what it feels like to lose mom. I know you loved her and she sounded like a wonderful, caring person… she passed those traits on to you! I hope happy memories and being with family help soothe the sense of loss you feel now.

I met Marie only a few times but she was a very classy lady. My deepest sympathies to Bob and his family.
