Blomfield- Norman W. Blomfield, age 97, of Westport, husband of the late Evelyn Mary Raitt Blomfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Born in Montpelier, Vermont, son of the late Rev. Stanley F. Blomfield and Bernice Haskin Blomfield, Norman attended the Munson Academy, Class of 1933, and later in life served as a school Trustee, as did his father before him. Mr. Blomfield's education continued at Yale University where he graduated Class of 1937. He had worked as a systems analyst for the former Burroughs Corporation ( Unisys ) until his retirement and then as a private consultant. He and his wife of 61 years Evelyn also volunteered for the Peace Corps ( RSVP ) serving for some time in Venezuela. Norman was an avid tennis player, he enjoyed playing bridge and caring for his garden. He is survived by his son, Bruce Blomfield and his wife Betsy of Westport, grandchildren Matthew and his wife Melissa and great-grandchildren Madison and Mackenzie, he also leaves behind step-grandsons Lyman Reed Jr and Adam Reed as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers Nelson, C. Stanley and Walter Blomfield and sisters Charlotte Auger and Frances Haines. Mr. Blomfield will have a Memorial Service on Monday at 11am at Green's Farms Church, 71 Hilandale Rd., Westport, Ct. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6-8pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center.
