Kunin, Phyllis P.
Phyllis P. Kunin, age 91, longtime resident of Milford, and beloved wife to the late Gilbert Kunin, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Lord Chamberlain in Stratford. Born in Barile, Italy on November 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Giovina Baffari Petrizzi. Prior to her retirement, Phyllis was a bookkeeper for General Electric and Twin Lights Milford Body Shop. When her children went to school, she volunteered for the PTA, but, most rewarding was being part of the Pumpkin Delight Gals, who, to this day, still gather together for love, support, companionship and laughs. Phyllis was a loving, warm-hearted and gentle mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly and sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Janice Castle and her husband Brian of Monroe and Gary Kunin and his wife Debra of GA; her cherished grandchildren, Patricia Castle and Jennifer, Megan and Danielle Kunin; her siblings, Julie Stearns, Madeline Leary, Anthony Petrizzi and his wife Sandra; sister-in-law Carol Asquith and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Baxter. The family would like to thank the staff on the 4th floor of Lord Chamberlain Health Care for their devoted kindness, support and compassion of Phyllis during her stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 6th at 10:30 am (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH) at St. Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 5th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
