Chickos, Sherie L.
Sherie L. Chickos, age 64, of Shelton entered into rest on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to John J. Chickos. Sherie was born in Caribou, Maine on April 16, 1949 daughter of Dorothy (Stairs) Adams of Maine and the late Philip Adams. She was a Shelton resident for 35 years coming from Stratford. Sherie was an Insurance Commercial Line Agent for Stone Insurance Agency in Meriden and Brown and Brown Insurance in Rocky Hill. She loved traveling and reading. Sherie enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren. She also loved the Christmas Season especially going into N.Y. City for the holiday. The family would like to thank their family, friends, Oncology staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center and VITAS Innovative Hospice Care in Stratford for their love and support for Sherie and her family during this time. She is the loving mother of Barbara (Paul) D'Agnone and John P. (Elizabeth) Chickos, sister of, Sheilia (Dave) Belyea, Larry (Louise) Adams, Lloyd (Yvonne) Adams, Leah McCullough, Tammy (Paul) Beurer, and Todd (Marina Syphers) Adams. Sherie is the loving grandmother of Marc, Matthew and Michael D'Agnone and Ally and Owen Chickos. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides her father she is predeceased by a brother-in-law Calvin McCullough. Friends may call on Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Saturday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Swim Across the Sound for the Elizabeth Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care at St. Vincent's Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport CT 06606. To all of Sheri's loving family and friends, she was one of the most wonderful people I have ever known in my life and I will always treasure her friendship. I have a quilt that is in my living room which reminds me of her everyday. How I wish I could be there to hug you all but please know I am there in spirit.
