Dear Waller and Hayes families:
I did not have the good fortune of knowing your daughter/wife/mother while I attended Holy Cross. I wish I had met her as she sounds like an outstanding individual. In your grief, may you realize what a special person it takes and what an inspiration she was in her work. She truly seemed to embody the spirit of "being a person for others". As she obviously was such a dynamic person, may you find some solace in your memories with her. God bless. My mother lost her life to cancer at age 33 and my sister, an alumna of Holy Cross '96, lost her life to a compromised immune system after a bout with cancer at age 35.Hopefully, we will one day have a cure for this insidious disease. It sounds as if Lisa was there to provide comfort and then became an example of courage in the "good fight" herself. My prayers go out to your family.

To Lisa's Family,
I was also one of Lisa's "Alban Towers" roommates. I am so so sorry for your loss. Lisa was a true gentle soul and a wonderful person. There are a lot of lovely people you meet throughout life, but the truly special people stand out -- Lisa was one of those people. She was always happy and always offering to help other people. I am sorry I lost touch with her after graduation. I live in DC and will think of her and say a prayer for you every time I pass by Alban Towers and our old haunts.
God Bless --

To Lisa’s husband, children and the Hayes family-
I was one of Lisa’s “Alban Towers” roommates during our college semester in Washington DC. Though we only spent a few months together exploring the halls of Congress and joining the ranks of other interns who seemed to run this great city, I will always remember Lisa as one of the brightest and most passionate people I have ever met. Her laugh was infectious and she was such a great roommate and friend. I also vividly remember her brother Art, ever present during our time in DC and patiently keeping us out of trouble. I live in Washington DC now and have two children of my own with my Holy Cross sweetheart. I lost touch with Lisa after graduation but I think of her and the fun we had together every time I pass Alban Towers and the National Cathedral. I am so sorry for your loss. May God bless you and your family and know that a long ago friend will keep you in her prayers.
