DeLeo, Eugene P.
Eugene P. DeLeo, 91, of Stratford, formerly of Darien, died peacefully on Saturday, December 28th surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 50 years, Louise M. DeLeo. Born in Stamford on January 6, 1922, Gene was the son of the late Clorinda and Salvatore DeLeo. He was a four-star athlete at Stamford High School, a Navy Veteran, and a scratch golfer. Gene later co-founded DeLeo Brothers, Inc., a construction firm which he and his brothers operated for over 35 years. Survivors include Gene's four loving children: Paul (Ellen) DeLeo of New Fairfield, Linda (Frank) Ball of Fairfield, Gina (Tom) Curtin of Trumbull and Peter DeLeo of Stratford; eight grandchildren: Tom, Kevin, Lauren, Patrick, Scott, Mary Louise, Rebecca and Eric; three siblings: Helen, Carol and William; many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws; and his loyal dog, Lucy. Gene was a remarkably kind and charming man, and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Food Bank at www.ctfoodbank.org

Dear Cousins, Paul,Linda,Gina and Peter. I was so sorry to hear about your dad. I will always remember what a handsome and dapper dresser he was. And oh how he loved to golf.
