Metzger, James S. 44, of Ansonia passed away in his home surrounded by the love of his family & friends on August 29, 2013. After many gracious miracles & victories his fight with cancer ceased when he entered into the loving Hands of our Heavenly Father. Jim received his Master's in education from SCSU & worked as a math teacher at Emmett O'Brien & other school systems. He obtained his residential certificate in & was working towards a degree in interior design at Fairfield University. Jim had a great love for elephants hence his enormous heart, loving spirit & gracious soul which touched many people throughout his life. His spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who loved, knew & encountered him. We will never forget his beauty, grace, humor & love. James is survived by his parents William & Patricia Metzger, grandmother Henrietta Metzger, six siblings: Cindy Bankalter (Michael), Debbie Metzger (Henry Louis), Pamela Gale (John), William Metzger, Patricia Metzger (Stephen Kokoruda) & David Metzger, four nieces: Stephanie Zamary (Fernando Hernandez), Megan Zamary, Melissa Henneghan (Ryan) & Joy Metzger & two great nephews: Ryan Henneghan Jr. & Giovani Hernandez & loyal loving dog Sebastian. Predeceased by grandfather William Metzger Sr. & grandparents Frank & Veronica Polohar.
The wake will be held at Edmund W. Dougiello Funeral Home, 36 South Pine Creek Rd, Fairfield, September 3rd from 4-7. The funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 S.
