Jeanne Dryja, 88, of Seymour, entered eternal life Wednesday, May 15 at Hewitt Memorial with her loving family by her side. Jeanne was born in Seymour on March 15, 1925, daughter of the late Feodor & Efrosinia Rudenko, immigrants from the Ukraine, Village Bila Thserkva. Her parents owned Rudenko's Butcher Market on 35 Bank Street in Seymour until they sold the business in 1948. Jeanne was a life-long resident of Seymour and a graduate of Seymour High School Class of 1943. For over 30 years, she was employed by the Kerite Company, a Harvey Hubble subsidiary. Jeanne was loved by all that knew her and everyone always had wonderful things to say about her. She was a former member of The Valley Ecumenical Choir, and those who knew her best knew she was happiest when she was singing, playing the piano, reading the Bible and spoiling her dog, Lola. She is survived by her son John Dryja of Vista, CA; her beloved daughters Janice Dryja Easter of Ansonia; Joanne Dryja DaSilva (Fernando) of Seymour; four cherished grandchildren, Melania DaSilva Deaver (Ryan), Katie Dryja, Sean Easter and Christina Easter; 3 Great grandchildren Donovan Deaver, Tiana Deaver & Moriah Deaver and her Brother-in-law, Pat Battaglia of Ansonia. Jeanne was predeceased by her 3 sisters Olga Rudenko, Anne Battaglia and Alice Batin. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Ehsan Qadir for the kind-hearted and loving care he provided for over 10 years to Jeanne. A special thank you to Celine at Hewitt 1A for the loving care she provided to our Mother - she treated her as if she were her own Mother (and too many others to mention by name). Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 22, at 10 am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
