Jesse C. Cary, age 65 of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Charlottesville, VA to the late Fred and Ada Poindexter Cary, Jesse has been a resident of Bridgeport for the past fifty-six years. Jesse served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, received a Purple Heart and was honorably discharged. He was employed as a machinist for several years at Dresser Industries and twelve years as a zoo keeper for the Beardsley Zoo. In addition to his parents Jesse was predeceased by his brother William Cary. Survivors include a son, James Boyd of Bridgeport; three daughters, Chandrika (Aaron) Cary-Hayes of FL, Mishonda James and Danette (Maurice) Jones all of Bridgeport; two brothers, Fred and Roland Cary and one sister, Fredenia Brooks all of Stratford; ten grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 16, 2013, 11:00 AM at Morton's Mortuary Chapel, 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport with Rev. Johnny Gamble, officiating. Interment will take place at the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT following the service. Friends are invited to the viewing Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home. See
