John Dauscher Obituary

DAUSCHER John A. Dauscher, age 78 of Wallens Street, died peacefully, on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of Frances A. (Lungaro) Dauscher. Born in Queens, N.Y., July 26, 1931, son of the late William and Frances (Burkowitz) Dauscher, he had lived in the Stratford area for several years before moving to Winsted three years ago. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for NY Telephone for 35 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War era and was a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, John W. Dauscher of Winsted, Paul Dauscher and Andrew Dauscher, both of Stratford; five daughters, Frances Anne Sutay of North Haven, Anne Krueger of Naugatuck, Mary Frank of Milford, Theresa Fearnley of Stratford and Catherine Dauscher of Long Island City, NY; three brothers, William Dauscher of Lynnbrook, N.Y., Andrew Dauscher of Plainview, N.Y. and Paul Dauscher of Huntington, N.Y.; seven sisters, Rose Koch of North Carolina, Teresa Kentner of Plainview, N.Y., Anne Greene of Hicksville, N.Y., Joan Hurd of Stratford, Thecla MacPart-land of Huntington, N.Y., Margaret McGuigan of Virgina, Alice McManus of Florida; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Farrell and husband, Harold and Marie Ritzert and her husband, George; a brother, Joseph Dauscher; brothers-in-law, James Greene, Warren Koch and Jack McManus; sisters-in-law, Muriel Dauscher and Theresa Dauscher; and a grandson, Matthew Krueger. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:30 a.m. from the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street, to St. Joseph Church for the funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
