John H Myers age 91 of Bridgeport died Friday May 10, 2013 in the Ludlow Health Care Center Fairfield. Mr Myers a retired hairdresser and owner, along with his late wife Helen of The Powder Puff Salon of Black Rock was born in Plumville Pa. and was a Bridgeport resident most of his life.He was a graduate of Bassick HS and was a WWII Army veteran. He served with the 85th infantry, Custer division, 339th infantry regimental combat team, 910Th field artillery battalion, headquarters company, fought in the Italian campaign from Naples Italy to the Austrian border March 1944- May '45. He received The Purple Heart and The Silver Metal of Honor and was a P.O.W. He is survived by 1 brother; Cloyde Myers of Ca. 1 sister; Mary Barberio of Fairfield and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Services and burial in Mt Grove Cemetery will be private, there are no calling hours. The LARSON FUNERAL HOME 2496 North Ave is in care of arrangements.The family would like to thank Ct Hospice and The Ludlow Health Care center for the care that was given. The family would like memorial donations made to The Parkinson's Disease Foundation 1359 Broadway Suite 1509 NY,NY 10018
