DIRGO John Peter Dirgo, age 82 of Stratford, passed away February 18, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Dirgo was born in Bridgeport and was a longtime Stratford resident. He was the retired personnel director for General Electric and TEAM. A 1947 graduate of Warren Harding High School, he received his bachelors degree from Oberlin College Oberlin, Ohio and his masters degree at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa. Mr. Dirgo was an active member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church and held many offices including Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Building Committee, president and member of the Finance Committee of St. John's Orthodox Church Corporation. Survivors include his beloved wife, Barbara A. (Drabb) Dirgo of Stratford; two devoted children, John A. Dirgo of Oak Park, Ill and Cindy Hoboken of Trumbull; loving sister, Helen Wood and her husband, Hugh of Trumbull; three cherished grandchildren, Dr. Andrea L. Hoboken, Susan M. Hoboken and Andrew O. Dirgo; and may nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Thomas Hoboken. Friends and family are invited to attend his funeral services on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. and at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 364 Mill Hill Ave., Bridgeport with the Very Reverend Father David Cochran officiating. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
