SHEAHAN John R. Sheahan, 76, resident of Milford for 46 years, beloved husband of June Williams Sheahan, died August 21, 2010 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Son of the late John and Anna Mangan Sheahan, he was born March 23, 1934 in New York City. Mr. Sheahan was an electrical engineer with SNET for 30 years, retired. John was a faithful and good husband and father. He loved his family and liked to stay close to home. His death came after having received the last sacraments of the traditional Catholic Church and wearing the Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. This was a great consolation to his family and an answer to prayer. John started many religious devotions in his home, including having his whole family consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and a small Christmas Eve Party in honor of the Divine Infant Jesus of Prague. He especially loved the Blessed Virgin Mary, wearing her Miraculous Medal most of his adult life. Besides his wife, he is survived by his seven loving children and their spouses: Renee Sacco and husband, Brian, John C. Sheahan and wife, Deborah, Chris Sheahan and wife, Rita, Robert Sheahan and wife, Corinne , Michael Sheahan and wife, Linda, Paul Sheahan and wife, Lisa and Mary Morris; 24 grandchildren, a loving sister, Joan Sheahan and three nephews and families. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from The Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford and at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be announced. Friends may call on Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that traditional Catholic Masses be offered for the repose of Mr. Sheahan's soul.
