BUTLER Josephine M. Butler, 69, lifelong resident of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday morning March 26, 2012, at CT Hospice in Branford. She was the loving wife of James R. Butler. Mrs. Butler was born in Derby on October 27, 1942, daughter of the late Peter and Josephine Barbieri DiDonato. She was a proud graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Hartford and later earned her Bachelor's Degree then Master's Degree in Public Health both from Southern Connecticut State University. Josephine was employed as a Registered Nurse at Griffin Hospital and retired as Nursing Supervisor. She was a member and past president of Paugassett Hose Ladies Auxiliary in Derby and member of the former East Side Italian American Club also in Derby. Josephine enjoyed knitting, reading, puzzles and above all, spending time with her family. In addition to her husband Jim, she is survived by a son, James J. Butler (Andrea) of Derby, two daughters, Barbara S. Butler (RoseMarie) of Otisville, NY and Janice M. Butler of Newtown, grandchildren, Sarah Butler of Ansonia and James A. and Julianna Butler of Derby and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph J. DiDonato. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday March 29, 2012, at 10:15 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Mary Church in Derby. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
