Nancy, Sal and family,
Both Carol and I extend our deepest sympathy and good wishes to you as you mourn the passing of your mom. We both of so many wonderful memories of our life in Trumbull, and clearly among the best of those is our special relationship to your family. Both Josephine and Peter over the years were very special to us, made us feel like part of your family, and were not only supporters but advisors, confidants, and counselors. We miss them both but will always have fond memories of their love.
We know that your family will hold their memories of Josephine and her love for you forever. Our thoughs are with you.
We will join you to pay our lasting respects at today's services, but, unfortunately, each of us has an unchangeable commitment for the morning of the funeral.
We will keep our prayers with you throughout the day.
Thank you for sharing your parents with us.

Dear Nancy,
May you find comfort in believing that the brightness of your mother's well-lived life will continue to shine. Your mother not only entertained the "gentry" of polite and political society but also your friends. My mind is filled with fond memories and my prayers are with you and Sal.

Dear Nancy, Sal and Family:
Sheila and I were sorry to learn of your mother's passing. We both had the greatest affection for Josephine and Peter and always considered them to be almost extended family. They were among the first people we met on moving to Trumbull so many years ago and together with your cousin, Dick, made us feel welcome in our new home town. Your parents set a great example for community pride and service -- one that you have taken up and as a result the community is a better place for us all. We are sorry that we are away at this time and are not able to express our condolences to you in person but we plan to do so upon our return. We know that you all have many happy memories that will help sustain you in the years ahead. Our kindest thoughts are with you at this time.
