M. Voytek Obituary

SR. M. FRANCINE VOYTEK SSND, in her 92nd year of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill Road, Wilton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 9, 2003, at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Martindale, Pa., Sister received her BS degree in education from Fordham University and was a teacher for more than 70 years, which included St. Ursula0s in Alison Park, Pa., Holy Family in Brooklyn, N.Y., St. John Nepomucene Commercial in Bridgeport, and for more than 20 years Sister taught at St. Theresa0s in Trumbull, prior to retiring in 1993. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Marge Voytek of Trumbull; eight nephews: the Rev. John Voytek, OFM, of Cornwall, Joseph (Laurie) Voytek, Stephen and Adam Voytek, all of Bridgeport, Peter (Peggy) Voytek of Fairfield, Frank Voytek of Washington, D.C., Richard Voytek of Vermont, and Lawrence Voytek of Florida; five nieces: Helen (Peter) Ingrassia of Trumbull, Mary Ann Voytek, also Perpetua (Jack) Turner, both of Stratford, Valerie (Paul) Reynolds of Maine, and Barbara (Bunny) of California; also grandnieces and grandnephews, Joan (Wayne) Thomas of Newtown, Jean (Brian) Young of Huntington, Vincent Ingrassia of Stratford, and Jim and Bob Voytek, both of Bridgeport. Sister was predeceased by four brothers, Michael, Adam, Stephen and Frank Voytek. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at 10 a.m. in the Provincial Motherhouse Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends invited. Bracken-Donovan-Spodnick, Bridgeport, directing. Interment in St. Michael0s Cemetery, Stratford. Memorial to SSND Development Fund, Wilton, CT 06897, will be appreciated. Calling hours on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Christian wake service on Monday at 7 p.m.
